Terms of Service
These Terms of Service are a binding agreement governing your use of the nodeApp mobile application and related services.
Effective: May 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Sulieman Vidal ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the nodeApp mobile application and related services (the "Service"). These Terms also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the App.
By creating an account, downloading, or using nodeApp, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.Eligibility and account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use nodeApp.
- You must provide accurate registration information, including a valid date of birth for age verification.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, whether you sign in with email/password or a connected provider (e.g. Google).
- You must keep your profile information accurate and up to date.
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts to evade enforcement or abuse the Service.
2.License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use nodeApp on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use of the Service.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App except as allowed by law
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law
- Circumvent security, access controls, or rate limits
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
3.Core service functionality
nodeApp lets users create, join, and manage groups with shared:
- Tasks (creation, assignment, completion)
- Group chat (text and images)
- Map view of group HQ (not live member tracking)
- Invitations and notifications
Leaders can create tasks, assign members, manage group settings, and delete groups. Members (Followers) participate according to role permissions.
4.Invites, membership, and group lifecycle
- Groups may be joined through in-app invites, notifications, or deep links.
- Leaders may delete groups. Deletion may include a grace period during which undo/restoration is available.
- After permanent deletion, group data may be removed or no longer accessible.
- When a group expires, content may become read-only and is permanently deleted after the retention period described in the Privacy Policy.
- You may leave a group subject to in-app controls and leader permissions.
5.Messaging, media, and user-generated content
You are solely responsible for content you post (messages, images, profile information, task content).
Zero tolerance: objectionable content is prohibited, including harassment, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, violence or threats, spam, scams, impersonation, and illegal activity.
Group chat supports text and image attachments. Do not post content you do not have rights to share.
Reporting tools
- You can report groups, messages, and users in the app.
- Reports are reviewed by our team, typically within 24 hours.
- Reporting a message may hide that message for you while review is pending.
- Reporting a user or group sends the report to moderation; it does not automatically remove all of that user's content.
Enforcement
We may, at our discretion:
- Remove or restrict content
- Suspend or permanently ban accounts
- Remove users from groups
- Terminate access to the Service
Banned or suspended users may contact support@nodeapp.us to appeal where applicable.
6.Real-time features
nodeApp uses real-time connections (e.g. WebSockets) to sync chat, tasks, notifications, and group status.
- Updates may be delayed during poor network conditions or maintenance.
- Some features may become read-only when a group is pending deletion or expired.
7.Notifications
nodeApp may send push and in-app notifications for invitations, messages, tasks, and other activity.
- Supported preferences can be managed in the app.
- Device-level notification permissions are controlled in iOS/Android settings.
- You are responsible for any carrier or data charges.
8.Location and maps
- The in-app map displays the group HQ location set when the group was created.
- We do not display member live GPS, automatic check-ins, or real-time user tracking on the map.
- The app does not require device location permission to view the HQ map.
- Task addresses may appear as text elsewhere in the app; they are not shown as live member locations on the map.
- Map and geocoding features may rely on third-party providers.
9.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service or interfere with other users
- Send spam invites, messages, or abusive content
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, groups, or systems
- Upload malware or harmful code
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law
Use in-app Report tools when you encounter objectionable content or abusive users.
10.Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete account in the app, or by contacting hello@nodeapp.us or privacy@nodeapp.us.
Deletion is permanent. Effects may include removal from groups, deletion of groups you lead, removal of your messages, and loss of access to the Service. See the Privacy Policy for details.
11.Intellectual property
The App, branding, and Service content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting content, you grant us a limited license to host, store, display, and transmit it solely to operate the Service for your group.
12.Third-party services
The Service may integrate third-party services (e.g. Google Sign-In, Google Maps, Firebase). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
13.Service changes and availability
We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or compatibility with all devices or OS versions. You are responsible for maintaining a supported device and network connection.
14.Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
15.Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100, IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANY AMOUNTS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
16.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us and our operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
17.Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, abuse, legal requirements, or operational reasons.
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account. Sections that by nature should survive termination (e.g. disclaimers, limitations, indemnity) will survive.
18.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer laws apply.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at hello@nodeapp.us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
19.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
